The aim of Sonseekers playgroup is to provide a friendly, caring place for children and their parents, grandparents or carers. We aim to provide a safe environment for children to play together, as well as an opportunity for their carers to relax and make friendships with others in the community, while sharing the joys and trials of parenting.

Sonseekers playgroup meets from 9:30am to around 11:30am on Tuesday and Thursday each week including school holidays, although there is a short break around Christmas. We are affiliated with the Playgroup Association of the Northern Territory. The playgroup is located at the Casuarina Uniting Church building, Vanderlin Drive, Wanguri.

Sonseekers playgroup caters for children from birth to four years of age. We also try to cater for older siblings during the school holidays. There is a range of play opportunities for children both inside and outside in the fenced yard. Parents can help their children with activities like painting and craft. A shared morning tea is served at around 10:30am. Playgroup often finishes with a session of singing and playing musical instruments.

A group of carers for different ages and stages of life from Casuarina Uniting Church run the playgroup. This frees up parents who attend to relax and spend time with the children and other parents. Parents are not required to run activities or be on rosters. Parents are asked to provide something to share for morning tea, such as a piece of fruit, and a small monetary donation if they are able. The carers setup activities and prepare morning tea for the children. Parents are welcome to help themselves to tea and coffee.

We think of ourselves as a friendly playgroup and currently have mothers and fathers, grandparents and carers attending.
